Here, you can accrue valuable resources, hunt down treasure, and hoover up (literally - most of Slime Rancher's interactions involve your wonderfully tactile vacuum nozzle thingy) exotic new breeds of Slime to rehouse back at the farm. There are plenty of regular farm-like things to do, including growing crops to feed to your Slimes and earning cash to expand your facilities in order to accomodate more breeds, but a significant part of the adventure involves exploring the colourful wilds outside your ranch. Except, your farm is on a distant alien planet, and the bulk of your responsibilities involve breeding (and cross-breeding!) strange gelatinous goo balls known as Slimes. If you've not yet had the pleasure, Slime Rancher an exceptionally odd, yet oddly engrossing, experience that plays out something like an extremely chilled first-person farming game. This is a funny and cute indie project where you play as a space rancher who received the strange heritage a farm of alien slimes. Up first is Slime Rancher, available now until March 21st. Then Slime Rancher that has recently was fully released may be your cup of tea, or in this case, a cup of slime, to taste.

The renowned rancher, Hobson Twillgers, has passed his ranch on to you.

Collect colorful slimes, grow crops, harvest resources, and explore the untamed wilds through the mastery of your all-purpose vacpack. Play as Beatrix LeBeau: a plucky, young rancher who sets out for a life a thousand light years away from Earth on the ‘Far, Far Range.’Įach day will present new challenges and risky opportunities as you attempt to amass a great fortune in the business of slime ranching.

Slime Rancher is a charming, first-person, sandbox experience.
