The game is a good online tactical shooter, but Ubisoft need to hire new, better writers if they are to regain their former fanbase. And taking the game and making the setting into a nuclear wasteland is the final straw. The writers' room for the universe of Siege just suck, focusing more on pimping out the game as a new E-Sport rather than making sure the game fits with established Clancyverse canon. Now, IMO, this whole "Post-Apocalypse" event has thrown the series into a new dork age. Cringey, Anime operators turning it into a Hero Shooter, bizarre universe changes, and the ever-ridiculed Tournament of Champions angle, among other such 'brilliant ideas'. Now, Rainbow Six franchise fans make it no secret that Siege has been going through an identity crisis ever since 2018 (when the new writers decided to turn it into UT2K4: Killing Floor for a while).
